Mayor: 4 more COVID-19 testing sites in partnership with Medirite to open in NYC
Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Thursday that MTA ridership and traffic has increased compared to last week.
Subway ridership is up 75%, bus ridership is up 57%, Staten Island Ferry ridership is up 70% and traffic into Manhattan is up 23% via East River bridges and 17% via Harlem River bridges.
In addition to the test and trace initiative, four new testing sites are opening with urgent care partner Medrite.
This will add up to 1,200 more tests per day in New York City.
The mayor says New York City now has the capacity to test 50,000 New Yorkers per day.
The mayor says the citywide median turnaround for COVID-19 tests is two days.
More city pools will be opening Friday. The mayor says eight public swimming pools will open across the five boroughs, including Mullaly in the Bronx and Sunset and Kosciuszko in Brooklyn.
