Mayor: Schools will have electrostatic cleaning in classrooms daily
Mayor Bill de Blasio announced more information for the plans to reopen schools this fall.
The mayor says there will be electrostatic cleaning in classrooms each day.
The electrostatic cleaning is the same form used to clean the subway systems and can clean in 1 to 2 minutes, according to the mayor.
The mayor also says every public school will have a certified nurse on property.
The mayor also discussed a new project labor agreement. The new agreement will employ low-income New Yorkers for city projects. The program will provide access to apprenticeships and aims to bring 26,000 jobs to low-income communities.
Mayor de Blasio also says the city has signed a new deal for media production in Sunset Park with Steiner Studios. He says the deal will create 1,800 construction jobs and 22 full-time jobs.
