Quarantine may have been a struggle when it came to healthy eating, which is why a business in the Bronx offering all fresh ingredients is trying to help.

Freckle’s Juice Bar in Eastchester is serving everything New Yorkers need to boost their immune system.

“It’s important to detox, to get rid of the toxics in your body and put nutrients in your body,” says owner Felicia Forbes.

Forbes started her business in her kitchen five years ago. She says she wasn’t going to let the pandemic bring her down. Instead, she continued to make deliveries around the community.

“People are very interested in staying healthy. They want to protect themselves, they don’t want to get sick,” says Forbes.

Freckle’s Juice Bar offers everything from detox cleanses, juices and combination smoothies.

“They’re asking about detoxing so we are offering one-day, two-day juice cleanses, so they’re coming in,” says Forbes.

Forbes says the pandemic has caused many to open their eyes about their overall wellness.

“Health is wealth and we need to stay open. I think the community knows that community understand that so we’re essential and no matter what I want to stay open the doors open,” says Forbes.
