The Westchester Square Business Improvement District is announcing a new digital gift to help struggling businesses stay afloat during this crisis.
The new community-based e-card allows shoppers to support local businesses in Westchester Square while in lockdown.
Currently, about 62 stores out of 200 on the Bronx strip are still open for business.
Local officials say the digital e-card will help local merchants make up for the lack of foot traffic as they try to reopen their doors.
"We have property owners as well as tenants and merchants trying to open their business trying to see what their business and the future will look like and how the stores will be designed we are trying to make sure that social distancing will take place once they're able to be open," says Yasmin Cruz, of Westchester Square BID.
