Wind alert: Gusty conditions, low humidity in NYC increase risk for brush fires

Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Darryl Green says New York City is on wind alert through Friday night. Green says the combination of 25-35 mph gusts and very low humidity is causing an increased fire danger.
A wind alert will be in effect again Friday, which will consist of sunny skies and breezy conditions. There will be 25-35 mph gusts combined with very low humidity that can cause an elevated fire risk. Temperatures will be in the low-60s.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny again, a bit milder. Winds calm down! Highs around 65. Lows down to 48.
