While there were some breaks of sun and nice weather across Long Island for part of today, the wind has certainly picked back up and is causing scattered damage and power outages. Sustained wind out of the west is around 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to around 50 mph. A wind advisory is issued by the National Weather Service until midnight.
It will stay a bit gusty on Saturday, but it will not be as windy as today. Saturday morning will feel cold - have a heavier coat. Saturday's gusts should max out around 30 mph. The weekend overall will be nice!
Have a great Halloween and please use caution being out in the strong wind.
