A Bronx woman celebrated her 107th birthday in Co-op City Wednesday.
Louise Signore was born in Harlem in 1912 and moved to the Bronx in 1926. She worked for the MTA for over 30 years.
Signore's birthday was celebrated at the JASA Bartow Senior Center in Co-Op City where she spends most of her time.
In 2016, at 103 years old, she was the victim of a robbery that News 12 covered. But Signore's friends say she is resilient and independent. A staffer at the center says not even the robbery could scare her away from being out in the community.
Signore says she has a secret to her longevity and independence: "I never got married."
