Police have released a photo of the person they say attacked a woman in the Bronx for being Asian.
Crisanna Tang says the suspect got onto the subway at the Third Avenue-149th Street station Friday morning.
The victim says when she first moved away from the man because he was not wearing a mask, he followed her and spit on her hair and arms.
Tang says the man blamed her for bringing the coronavirus to the United States and told her to "go back to China."
She says the suspect got off at the Jackson Avenue stop and she went to a train conductor for help.
Tang says she was tested for COVID-19 Wednesday, fearing she may have been exposed to the virus.
The NYPD Hate Crime Task Force says the man is wanted for questioning for aggravated harassment.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
