Many think of Labor Day as a time to have one last summer barbecue with family, or to soak up the last rays of summer sunshine at the beach.
But the holiday began as a way to pay tribute to the contributions that American workers have made to the country's prosperity.
News 12 The Bronx spoke with residents to find out what they thought the holiday is all about.
