Drivers say a massive crater just off the Hutchinson River Parkway caused major damage to several vehicles on Wednesday.
News 12 was alerted to the situation after a viewer called the newsroom to report multiple cars pulled off the road.
When News 12 arrived, the crew saw popped tires and tow trucks lining the area. At least a dozen vehicles appeared to have sustained damage.
Drivers told News 12 that the problem had been happening throughout the day. They said they feared repairs could cost thousands of dollars.
It’s unclear how long the hole has been there or when it will be repaired.
