Bronx workers head to Albany for wage rally
Thousands of New York-area home care workers, nurse assistants and other care givers headed to the Capitol today to join a giant rally for a statewide minimum wage increase.
Many Bronx workers boarded buses outside Fordham Plaza this morning to join in the 'Fight for $15.'
According to state statistics, there are over 200,000 home care workers in the New York City area who make around $10 an hour, and 56 percent are forced to rely on public assistance, including 30 percent who are on food stamps.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo has continued to campaign for minimum wage increases for all New Yorkers.
