A Bronx woman has confessed to beating and robbing a pregnant women in a building stairwell on Feb. 1, according to police.
They say 18-year-old Serenity Dunham admitted on Friday to kicking Tylesha Mohammad repeatedly and slamming her body with a heavy door.
Police say after the beating, Dunham took Mohammad’s phone and ran away.
Dunham’s family spoke to News 12 this week and said Dunham is remorseful and regrets what happened.
“She is not a monster, she made a mistake. She has a daughter of her own,” said a family member.
A judge put Dunham in an alternative-sentencing program. Her alleged accomplice, 27-year-old Tiffany Nurse, is due in court this June.
