An arrest has been made in connection to the suspicious packages being sent across the country.
Law enforcement officials identified 56-year-old Cesar Sayoc of Aventura, Florida, as the person in custody.
These new developments come as law enforcement officials confirming the discovery of at least two more suspicious packages.
The FBI says a package addressed to Sen. Cory Booker, of New Jersey, was intercepted in Florida. Another discovered at a Manhattan postal facility was addressed to former national intelligence director James Clapper at CNN's address, according to Associated Press sources.
That device was transported to Rodman's Neck by a bomb container. It was taken to a 54-acre NYPD training facility there around 10:45 a.m. Friday.
"I want to especially commend the work of the postal inspectors, but also the work of the other 600,000 postal employees across the country that have been working with authorities to locate these packages before they're delivered and to alert authorities,” says NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence and Counterterrorism John J. Miller. "This is an example of one postal worker who, when she saw this, recognized it, froze it in the system and was able to resolve it before it got delivered."
Friday's package is the third that has been transported to Rodman's Neck so far.
