Two people were fatally shot and two others were wounded Monday during a shooting at the J'Ouvert festival, a celebration leading up to the West Indian Day parade.
Police say 17-year-old Tyreke Borel was shot in the chest at the intersection of Empire and Flatbush avenues around 3:50 a.m. He was transported to the hospital where police say he later died.
Police say shortly after Borel was shot, 22-year-old Tiarah Poyau was shot in the face near the intersection of Empire and Washington avenues and later died at the hospital.
News 12 is told a 72-year-old and 66-year-old woman were also shot. They were transported to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.
Police say three of the four shooting victims were unintended targets.
News 12 is also told one person was stabbed.
No arrests have been made.
