Two pedestrians were struck by cars Saturday afternoon in two separate incidents.
A witness says he called the police after he saw a black car hit a man on Union Avenue at 155th Street. He says the car immediately fled the scene.
The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital in critical condition.
According to police, while investigating the first hit-and-run, a woman was struck by another car while crossing the street down the block.
Police say the woman's husband tried to climb into the car's window to fight the driver, but was arrested by officers who were already at the scene.
