A Bronx duo whose program has helped hundreds of kids in the borough over the past nine years is going global.

Curiel and Neeko Zeno, founders of Be You, Stay True Basketball, have been mentoring and helping out the youth in the Bronx through basketball by teaching them lessons on the court and off the court.

“Whether they have tons of experience or no experience, Be You Stay True is the place students can come together and feel included in the game of basketball,” said Curiel.

Curiel and Neeko say many of the kids that started the program back when it first started have stuck around, taking on mentorship roles in the initiative.

Their next step is to bring this idea and start a Be You Stay True camp down in Puerto Rico for a two-day event on July 13 and 14, where 50 kids will be hosted from a basketball club.

The camp will still run in the Bronx, kicking off for a day of hoops on June 17 at the College of Mt. Saint Vincent
