A 26-year-old man is dead after police said he was assaulted in Fordham Heights.

Police said Jahlil Jackson was punched in the face, which caused him to fall and hit the pavement outside of 2169 Grand Concourse near East 181st Street.

That is the address for a day care, but it was closed at the time of the incident.

Jackson was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he later died.

Police said the attack happened around 2 a.m. on Aug. 25. The medical examiner ruled Jackson’s death a homicide this week.

It was not immediately clear what led to the incident, why Jackson was in the area at the time, or if the victim knew the attacker.

As of Saturday, no arrests had been made.
