Instead of facing a misdemeanor public lewdness charge related to having his pants down, Fields pleaded guilty in Peekskill City Court to a civil offense known as exposure of a person.
The plea carries a fine.
His attorney said a motion will be filed to have Fields’ remaining charges fully dismissed when he returns to court on May 7.
Those charges include resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration, and a drug offense.
The attorney also said plans are underway to pursue accountability against the city and the responding officers in civil court.
Two Peekskill police officers involved in the incident, Daniel Regg and Angelo Cintron, are currently suspended without pay and are facing termination.
