Newly released video appears to show a person running through the Chick‑fil‑A parking lot on Route 22 in Union while holding what looks to be a gun, following Saturday night's deadly mass shooting.

The footage adds a new element to an ongoing manhunt after one person was killed and six others were injured in the shooting outside the restaurant around 9 p.m.

Union County prosecutors said the suspected gunman remains at large and no arrests have been made.
Authorities have not identified the person who was killed.

Prosecutors said the six injured victims were treated for wounds that were not life‑threatening.

Investigators said preliminary findings indicate the shooting does not appear to have been a random act of violence.

Officials continue to say there is no immediate ongoing threat to the general public.

Gov. Mikie Sherrill released a statement Sunday offering condolences to the victims and thanking first responders for their swift response.

Union Township Mayor Patricia Guerra‑Frazier also addressed the shooting, saying the community is heartbroken and shaken and that violence has no place in Union.

One of the injured victims was identified as an East Orange resident in a social media post by East Orange Mayor Ted Green.

A News 12 crew at the scene Saturday night saw the parking lot completely blocked off by police vehicles and ambulances.

By Sunday morning, the area had been cleared of officers.

Nearby business owners said the shooting has raised concerns about safety along the busy Route 22 corridor.
The Union County Prosecutor's Office is accepting anonymous tips, and information leading to an indictment and conviction could result in a $10,000 reward. Tips can be submitted by calling 908‑654‑8477.

The restaurant's website lists the location as temporarily closed. Employees arrived around 9:30 a.m., but the restaurant remained closed as cleaning crews came and later left the property.
