A second suspect is now in police custody in connection to the homicide of two people that took place on Shore Road in the vicinity of the Pelham Split Rock golf course.
Rahul Cuya, 24, has been arrested and charges with two counts of murder, manslaughter, arson, criminal use of a firearm and a slew of other charges.
The incident took place on May 16, 2022, when police discovered the burned Honda vehicle and the bodies of the two victims, Jesse Parrilla and Nikki Huang, both 22 years old.
Police who investigated the crime determined that it was a double homicide later that month, finding extensive burns on the victims’ bodies and gunshot wounds to their heads and bodies.
Ten months after the discovery of these two victims, the NYPD arrested one of two suspects who was wanted, Jahmel Sanders, 31, who was arraigned in court. He faces the same list of charges that Cuya now faces.
Cuya is set to be arraigned on Wednesday.
Police sources confirmed with News 12 that Steven Santiago, 34, is still being searched for by the NYPD.
