3,000 swimmers set to take the Polar Bear Plunge into Coney Island waters

Thousands of New Yorkers are set to take part in the century-old tradition of diving into the cold waters.
Three-thousand swimmers, including new comptroller Brand Lander, are set to take part in the annual Polar Bear Club Plunge at Coney Island.
Fortunately, temperatures are only expected to be in the 50s this year.
The tradition raises money for local nonprofits.
The Polar Bear Club says 10,000 spectators are also expected.
