A three-alarm fire took down a decades-old barbecue restaurant in Park Slope Wednesday.
Morgan’s Brooklyn Barbeque has been standing strong for 25 years. Like many restaurants, it had been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
News 12 spoke to the owner, Mathew Glazier, who says they poured their heart and soul into making the space comfortable for customers.
“Your heart goes down to your stomach,” Glazier told News 12.
Fire officials say the flames started in the kitchen at the restaurant and went up to the roof. It took 150 firefighters and EMS to put the flames out, according to fire officials.
The staff tells News 12 that things may seem bleak now, but that it’s not the last New York will see of Morgan’s.
No one was hurt in the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
