Judge
Marcus Martin informed the jurors of the ongoing Lesandro "Junior" Guzman Feliz case that three members of the jury have
tested positive for COVID-19.
An
alternate juror was one of the positive cases yesterday, and a second alternate
tested positive this past weekend. The third case was announced today.
Both
defendants, Diego Suero and Frederick Then, are accused of ordering a rival
gang hit that prosecutors say led to the 2018 killing of Feliz.
Due to
the pandemic, the start of their trial was delayed approximately two years.
If
convicted, Then and Suero face a similar amount of prison time to the five
members of the Trinitarios gang who received 25 years to life in prison in
2019.
