An 8-year-old boy is dead in Marine Park after a heavy planter box fell on his head.
Police say on Thursday, Kevin Reilly climbed up his house fencing and grabbed onto a flower planting box, which came loose. The boy then fell back and the heavy planter fell on top of him.
Emergency responders say when they arrived they found him unresponsive and unconscious with a trauma to his head. He was pronounced dead at Coney Island Hospital.
Neighbors say the boy and his family moved onto the street last summer, and the boy had two sisters.
