Mayor Eric Adams made another groundbreaking announcement on Tuesday naming Rebecca Whiner as the first woman to be the deputy commissioner of the city’s Department of Intelligence and Counterterrorism.
The announcement comes just one day after he named Edward cabin as the first Hispanic NYPD commissioner.
"The deputy commissioner is an impressive and experienced intelligence analysis who has spent 17 years with the NYPD during which she has held every civilian title in her field,” said Adams.
Whiner began her career with the NYPD in 2006.
