Anti-sex abuse activists march down Grand Concourse for Denim Day
Activists marched down the Grand Concourse to the Bronx Museum of Arts to condemn sexual abuse Wednesday.
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and a part of that is Denim Day on April 26.
The day takes its name from an Italian Supreme Court decision in the 1990s that overturned a rape conviction because the victim was wearing tight jeans.
It was a high-profile case of victim blaming that prompted international outrage.
Activists say victim blaming is still a cultural problem 20 years later.
Event organizers say the Denim Day March is in its eight year. Marchers from various organizations and schools moved down the Grand Concourse to decry sexual abuse in all forms.
