Winter storms bring snow and cold temperatures but Bronx residents should still have warm homes.
Officials say landlords are required to provide adequate heat levels to tenants. The Department of Housing Preservation and Development has established requirements for landlords.
If the temperature outside falls below 55 degrees between the hours of 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., the inside temperature must be at least 68 degrees. If the outside temperature falls below 40 degrees between the hours of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., the temperature inside an apartment must be at least 55 degrees.
