Anti-gun violence advocates rallied in the South Bronx on Tuesday afternoon to denounce multiple shootings across the borough over the last five days.
Save Our Street, Bronx Rises Against Gun Violence and Release The Grip were among the anti-gun violence organizations that chanted on the corner of Brook Avenue and East 146th Street.
Their purpose is to prevent and reduce gun violence in neighborhoods by changing local norms and providing opportunities for youth.
"We can't stop everything, we wish we could, we are not going to ever stop giving up and making sure the communities and the young people are safe," said Marisol Rivera, with Save our Streets.
The rally comes on the heels of a violent five-day span in the borough.

"It doesn't shock me, the shooting here a few days ago, I was coming from third avenue, I got caught right in it, I heard the gun shot, all I could do was lean up against the wall, that's all I could do.. Nobody should have to live like this," said Beatrice Diaz who lives near Brook Avenue.
