The attack in Iran is having an impact on gasoline prices, according to AAA.
A spokesperson told News 12 that prices are going up because of the price of crude oil - not due to a supply chain issue.
According to AAA, New Yorkers were paying the lowest price for gas in four or five years. On Monday, it was an average of about $3 a gallon in the city, which was up four cents from last week.
Alfred Ganno, a truck driver, told News 12 that his company was having him fill up about 20 trucks as a precaution. He says he also worried about paying more from his own pocket.
“I don’t know what’s going on,” said Ganno. “I feel a little [scared] right now, maybe for the rent, maybe for the food, for the family, yes.”
A AAA spokesperson told News 12 that there is no need to panic buy and have long lines at the pump.
