The crime scene where 35-year-old Ramon Vasquez was stabbed was turned into a memorial on Friday, honoring the Mexican native.
Vasquez was found with a stab wound late Saturday, March 28, outside of a pink and green truck at 3201 Webster Ave.
He was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
"This is my son, who they took from me," said Vasquez's mother, Efigenia Barrera.
Barrera and Vasquez’s father, Hodilo Vasquez, spoke exclusively to News 12 about the grief and questions they have unanswered about their son's death.
"That's what kills me inside, because we are left asking ourselves, 'What happened?’” said Barrera.
Hodilo Vasquez said he was called to the 52 precinct, where he was told his son was murdered.
Detectives also showed him a picture of a man and woman, whom he could not identify.
He was never told if the two individuals were involved in the crime.
As speculations arise of who was there the night of Vasquez's death, a man named Jeremy told News 12 on Monday that he knew the 35-year-old.
"We don't know anyone who says they were a friend of my son, because he was very private," said Barrera.
Investigators told News 12 the investigation is still ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
Police have not shared a description of who they are looking for at this time.
