Apple users in the Bronx may no longer have to travel outside of the borough for the latest iPhone.
Marlene Cintron with Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation says developers in the Bronx are in talks with Apple regarding a potential store in the borough.
Cintron says Bay Plaza Mall in Co-op City is one of the locations being scouted for the potential store.
She says her group has been looking to get an Apple Store to open in the Bronx for years
“It’s an opportunity for additional jobs in the Bronx as well as much-needed services for so many,” Cintron says. “Apple users here in the city of New York most of the time have to go all the way down to 42nd Street.”
News 12 has reached out to Apple, which has not yet confirmed whether a store will be coming to the Bronx.
The company’s job site has three positions listed as hiring in the Bronx
