A Bronx woman took News 12 inside her Baychester Houses apartment to show mold and mildew issues with which she says she's been dealing for years.
Sandra Davidson says the main problem is her mildew-ridden bathroom. She says cleaning only leads to the issue reappearing.
She says the problem even landed her in court for nonpayment of rent.
Davidson says the New York City Housing Authority would do repairs as part of a settlement, but nothing has been done yet.
"Our residents deserve a safe, clean place to call home, and our staff is working with the resident to make necessary repairs as quickly as possible," a NYCHA spokesperson said in a statement.
The spokesperson adds that the resident wasn't home when crews tried multiple times to check out the mildew concerns. They plan to reschedule a visit for Wednesday.
