Citi Bike is expanding to sections of Brooklyn, Queens and Jersey City, but the bike share program is still not making its way to the Bronx.
Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. says he feel the Bronx is being left out. He released a statement saying in part, "It is deplorable that Citi Bike is expanding to New Jersey before the rest of the city."
He goes on to say that his borough deserves better, along with other parts of New York City that aren't being served by the official bike share program.
Officials say the expansion plan will double the size of the popular bike share network from 6,000 bikes to more than 12,000 over the course of two years.
