yesterdayA Brentwood pawn shop owner was sentenced Friday for spearheading a retail theft ring.
Carlos Ulloa pleaded guilty in September to masterminding a scheme that brought in over $1 million a year. Prosecutors say he sold stolen goods out of E-Z Cash Pawn and Jewelry for around four years.
Ulloa was sentenced to up to nine years in prison for corruption and money laundering, and up to seven years on a weapons charge.
Three other people also pleaded guilty to their roles in the operation.
