Residents in the Second Stone Ridge community say the city cleaned up more than 100 old car tires that were dumped in their backyard within 24 hours of the News 12 broadcast.
News 12 first reported about the illegal dumping on Stone Ridge Road a week ago.
“Our residents are very thankful and happy because this is not a place to dump. This is a place where people live,” says residents Steven Nelson.
Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim added that, “Quality of life crimes, and illegal dumping of any sort, will not be tolerated and will be prosecuted by our department."
Bridgeport says anyone convicted of illegal dumping can lose both their license and their vehicle.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Bridgeport police at 203-576-TIPS.
