A Bronx man has officially left a rehabilitation center after his battle with coronavirus.
Family members cheered for Hector Pou Friday as he was released from The Plaza Rehab and Nursing Center in Kingsbridge Heights.
His daughter, Veronica Pou, tells News 12 he had been sick since mid-March when he was rescued by EMS.
She took a moment to thank all of the health care workers who helped her dad on his road to recovery.
“You're here to help and you come every day. And you do what you need to do to take care of these patients, and I thank you immensely for this. There's nothing that I can that I can repay you with. But God bless you all and thank you so much for caring for my father,” said Veronica Pou.
Hector Pou’s family tells News 12 that he has now survived both COVID-19 and cancer.
