The inaugural Cherry Blossom Celebration took place on Friday on Boston Road in Allerton.
Bronx residents of all ages came together to listen to music, dance, enjoy delicious food and celebrate the arrival of cherry blossoms for the springtime.
"This is a chance for us to embrace culture, show appreciation and also celebrate Earth Day," said Bharati Kemal, founder of The Bharati Foundation.
Organizers say this is the first celebration. They also took time to honor some elderly residents and their contributions to the borough.
