Saturday marks Three Kings Day, and the festivities got to a head start in Westchester Square on Friday night.
Three Kings Day, also known by some as Dia De Los Reyes or The Epiphany, is celebrated as a fun and festive conclusion to the holiday season. Owen Dolen Park in Westchester Square was transformed into a winter wonderland for the celebration with an ice rink.
Free gifts were given out and Bronx residents took to the ice rink to show off their skating skills. NYPD first deputy commissioner Tania Kinsella laced up her own skates and grabbed some free hot chocolate with local residents.
The event is organized by the Westchester Business Improvement District who worked alongside local businesses, lawmakers, and the NYPD to give families a fun way to send off the holiday season.
