Recruitment is underway for teaching positions in the Bronx as the borough faces a critical shortage of public school teachers.

"We need all the teachers we can get, " says Chimere Stephens, senior director of recruitment for NYC Public Schools. "Currently in the Bronx, it's one of our hardest-to-staff boroughs. It doesn't rank in the top three in terms in interest for potential interest for teachers."

The city is offering incentives such as signing bonuses and tuition assistance for people who stay and teach in the Bronx.

News 12's Heather Fordham attended a hiring and networking event at Fordham University organized by New York City Public Schools with more.
