A Haitian church in East Flatbush will be transformed into an aid donation drop center for Haiti.
The nonprofit Global Trauma Research is preparing to help by sending a team to support the thousands of people displaced and traumatized by the destructive hurricane.
The charity is focused on a casualty of natural disasters it says sometimes falls under the radar: mental health.
Dr. Florence Saint-Jean will be leading the team on the ground to empower Haitians through support systems that include prayer, dance and community.
The doctor and her team will leave for Haiti early next week.
