A Brooklyn health clinic honored grandparents with a street fair and dance party Friday.
A sea of 1,000 seniors filled Mother Gaston Boulevard dancing to the beat as a live band played. The community celebrated the love and care that grandparents give every day.
Doral Health and Wellness hosted the extravaganza, bringing in grandparents from across the borough for a day of fun.
Sharon Bell is a grandparent who traveled from Bed-Stuy to enjoy the food, performances and giveaways.
"I'm loving it because of the old music. I wish more young people were here so they can see how we communicate and how we get along, and maybe they'll follow behind us and do the same thing," says Bell.
The event drew crowds to Brownsville including families who played games and people who lined up for food donations from East Brooklyn Mutual Aid.
The celebration marks the clinic's second year giving back to seniors who have given so much to generations after them.
