A rally was held Sunday in Prospect Park where people rallied for more birthing options in New York City.
Trinisha Williams, the founder of Haven Midwifery Collective, said every person should be able to choose how they want their birthing process to go - whether it be with the help of a midwife or a dula, an at home birth or a birthing center.
During the rally, there was traditional Native American dancing to lift the spirits and prayers of supporters of the cause.
Jada Shapiro, founder of Boober, says care should not stop once a mother gives birth.
"It's not just about the birth," she said. "It's about early post-partum, it’s about lactation."
