Service on the 4 train between Woodlawn and East Burnside Avenue was shut down Wednesday due to a cable fire.
Officials say the fire was caused by a truck hitting an underpass on Jerome Avenue. The truck hit the high-voltage cables exposed under the tracks just before 5 p.m., which caused them to catch fire.
According to officials, full service was restored to the 4 line after a few hours.
MTA crews say they will be assessing the location of the voltage cables that the truck hit on Thursday.
