Surveillance camera appears to show two crooks stealing a catalytic converter from a Toyota in Throgs Neck.

The owner of the Toyota, Juan Santos, says he’s now $500 in the hole – and that doesn’t include missing work due to not having a working car.

The surveillance video shows two people exit from a white BMW and prop up Santos’ black Prius. A saw can be seen on the video - and the two men suspected of removing the catalytic converter from the vehicle.

Santos says he passed that white BMW just moments before he became victim to the robbery.

“I thought it was somebody visiting my neighbor ‘cause they were blocking the driveway,” said Santos. “I wish I knew they were gonna take it… I don’t know what I would’ve done if I saw them taking it.”
