Boy pulled from water at Indian Well State Park now stable

The boy reportedly entered the water from the boat launch dock and appeared to be in distress shortly after, officials say.

A 5-year-old boy who was pulled unresponsive from the water yesterday at Indian Well State Park is in stable condition, according to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and the Shelton Fire Department.

Officials say the incident happened around 4 p.m. The boy reportedly entered the water from the boat launch dock and appeared to be in distress shortly after.

DEEP staff entered the water and performed lifesaving measures on the unconscious child, with assistance from Shelton police and the Shelton Fire Department.

The boy was transported by ambulance to Griffin Hospital and later transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital for further treatment.
