Two childhood friends are making a push to get renovations done to the basketball courts they used as kids at the Throgs Neck Houses.
James Ennis and Justin Montalvo say that the rim hanging off is just one of the many problems at the courts.
There are also handwritten signs placed all over the courts. Ennis says these issues have been around since he was a child, and he's tired of nothing being done about it.
After bringing the issue to their 40 Central podcast, Ennis and Montalvo began pushing for renovations to be made and have even reached out to Councilman Mark Gjonaj for help.
News 12 has reached out to Gjonaj and NYCHA for a statement.
