Things are looking quiet and cold early Tuesday before temperatures once again recover into the upper 50s by the afternoon. The weather is going to change starting Wednesday, as one storm develops offshore and another one develops to our south. This means cloudy weather and eventually rain are on the way.
The southern storm will ride the Appalachians up the Eastern side of the country and bring some soaking rain and gusty winds to our area starting Thursday. There is some uncertainty with the exact track and how much rain will fall locally. About 1-3 inches of rain could fall in Fairfield and Litchfield counties during the day. This will be a large storm that will lift north by Friday for Halloween. Winds will likely gust 40-45 mph at times. The weather will improve, but gusty winds will stay behind for a few days and linger into the weekend. Halloween could end up being cooler and windy.
Start taking some precautions now and either plan to secure or take down Halloween decorations. Make sure all patio furniture is secure as well as trash/recycling cans outside your home.
