Christmas in America, the family-owned business that creates and stores many of the iconic holiday decorations seen in New York City and around the world, is ready for the season.
The 12,000-square-foot showroom is located in Mount Vernon.
For the past three years, CEO Dan Casterella has opened the doors to the public to walk through a display called Holiday Lane for a fee, with all proceeds going to three Mount Vernon charities.
In the past three years, the Youth Community Outreach Program, Northeast Stem Starter Academy, and Mount Vernon Boys and Girl's Club have received more than $200,000.
This year, Christmas in America has made some changes. "The Holiday Experience at Christmas in America" is now open. Visitors can shop and enjoy the displays without paying for admission.
There is 12,000 square feet of store and photo ops and over 3,000 products (including coveted collectibles) on site to purchase. Visits with Santa are also free, but visitors are encouraged to make a donation of any amount that will go directly to the three organizations.
A total of 10% of all sales will go to the three organizations.
