City Council unanimously passes equitable housing bill

Each fair housing plan would require strategies to increase affordable housing production in high-opportunity places.

The New York City Council has unanimously passed a bill that could bring more housing to the city faster and keep current housing better maintained. 
Intro 1031 will require the Department of City Planning to develop a five-year housing production target. It also would require that an annual report be submitted to keep the public updated on the progress made. 
Each fair housing plan would require strategies to increase affordable housing production in high-opportunity places.
