A new effort is underway to help Bronx residents lead a healthy lifestyle by making changes one bodega at a time.
The initiative 'Don't Stress, Eat Fresh' is being spearheaded by the Institute for Family Health/Bronx Health Reach. The initiative is aimed at increasing awareness among residents about the healthy choices available at 36 bodegas in the Bronx.
Some of the healthier options being sold include fresh fruits and vegetables as well as low-sodium products.
Community groups are hoping to recruit more bodegas and delis in the future.
Residents will soon see posters highlighting the initiative 'Don't Stress, Eat Fresh' at bus stops, in participating bodegas and across social media.
